SPECIAL TOPICS: ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL
This studio home is designed to be a refuge where the client can be creative, make a cup of coffee, go back to work and enjoy life. Located in northeast Maine, this is a 2 bedroom loft house, with an artist studio and great room that utilizes water views. The overall exterior design took into consideration the impact in aiding climate change. This custom built house is to make a statement but also have eco-friendly qualities that make it blend into the surroundings. Overall, this space needed to be adaptive for future uses and have a resale value.

PROGRAMMING + SCHEMATIC DESIGN
Since this was a custom build, there were a lot of iterations that were thought of. Many bubble diagrams and block diagrams were created in order to find the floorplan that would work the best. The idea behind the design was to follow the curvature of the land and a modern take on the A frame cabin in the woods.
